Assembly of the distal phycoerythrin I disk to the proximal phycoerythrin II disk in phycobilisome rods
Comment
We proposed a model of phycobilisome rod for WH8102 with one phycocyanin disk, two phycoerythrin-I disks and three phycoerythrin-II disks. mpeD clearly results from the fusion between one PEI and one PEII linker gene
Assembly of the middle phycoerythrin II disk in phycobilisome rods
Comment
We proposed a model of phycobilisome rod for WH8102 with one phycocyanin disk, two phycoerythrin-I disks and three phycoerythrin-II disks. We assume that the distal PEII linker is mpeC (maintaining the second to third PEII disk) whereas mpeD maintains the first to the second PEII disk.

GeneName
PTOX
ProductName
plastoquinol terminal oxidase
Function
PTOX is believed to oxidize plastoquinol to plastoquinone and to reduce oxygen to water. PTOX may represent the terminal oxidase in the process of chlororespiration.
Comment
The assignment of this gene as PTOX is based on multiple sequence alignments and molecular phylogenies.
